For professionals with Six Sigma titles on their CV's, they have more interview opportunities, since there are many companies implementing Six Sigma. Those who master this methodology, usually are on the success talent pipeline in succession plans of companies and receiving promotions faster. And this is just because they know a proven methodology that helps to achieve goals and solve problems faster.

Six Sigma Professional Benefit Example

I was hired at the International Recruitment Program of Johnson and Johnson.Basically, every year Johnson & Johnson hires MBA from all over the world. There are online applications, then a phone call interview. And those on the shortlist go to the U.S to do the face-to-face interviews in a big resort in Orlando.

I did the MBA, in Italy, not in a very famous school. I applied, did the phone interview and was invited to go to the US for face-to-face interviews. I was amazed, thinking about going to the U.S and J&J interviews.

I got into the plane, there were a couple of other MBA's from SDA Bocconi. We started talking, and they asked: "Antonio, how many interviews are you going to do in Orlando?"And I said: "I was invited for 13 interviews and you?" "Yeah, going there for two interviews, three interviews, one interview."

Then I started getting worried because I'm not from a top school. Perhaps it was a system mistake. When I arrived there the first thing I did was to check it with HR, and it was correct because many areas wanted to interview me because of my Six Sigma certification.

The invitations were for interviews in supply chain, manufacturing, marketing, HR and in sales positions. After the interviews, there were more than one offer from Johnson & Johnson and I chose pharmaceuticals in Italy. And this was my goal since the beginning and that's just one example of what happened to me.

Because of Six Sigma ,after joining J&J Italy, I was able to do projects in a new country and in a different industry. I used to work for the cement business in Brazil and I was working in pharmaceuticals in Italy. I didn't know anything about the pharmaceutical market in Italy. But with this structured methodology, I just followed the framework which allowed me to guide things with experts since my week number one.
