Who We Are

Optness was founded by managers, former managers and executives of Johnson & Johnson during the financial crisis of 2008 as a social initiative. These managers wanted to help small and medium companies not to break during the financial crisis given management mistakes.

Our methodology was developed based on Six Sigma and can be used in any kind of situation, manufacturing, non manufacturing, small, big, family companies or of the stock market. Basically it can be used in any industrial sector.

Since the beginning in 2008, in Italy, it has been a success, and because of it, we were invited to teach a course at a prestigious MBA School in Europe called  SDA Bocconi. And it was very successful. In that year, it was elected by the students as the most practical and useful course of the whole program.

After that, we were invited to teach this course in other prestigious MBA schools around Europe, such as HEC, IESE, ESADE. And now we start teaching in the US. We started with Duke, where we taught three sessions, and at Berkeley and Columbia. Now here in Yale, it's an honor to be here.

So that's Optness, started as a social initiative, not for profit. We helped a lot of NGOs and charity organizations. There are some very famous people on the Advisory Board, the most famous one is the founder of the Brazilian aviation company EMBRAER. 

We helped in a lot of projects, projects using our Six Sigma for management methodology in several sectors: sales and marketing, innovation, supply chain, HR, and also helped startups.

Who is Antonio?

I am Antonio, I'm Italian and Brazilian. I was born and raised in Brazil, but my four grandparents were Italians. I’m an engineer with an MBA and a Master of Sciences in International Economics. 

I worked for 10 years in Johnson and Johnson Italy after my MBA. I got hired on the international Recruitment Program. In the last 2 years at J&J, I worked as Head of M&A for Latin America. While I was in J&J, I volunteered for Optness. And when I got out I went in as full-time director for Optness.

And my hobbies are, I practiced Jiu Jitsu almost every day. I like nature, the wilderness, walking in the mountains, going to the beach, eating and dine outside home.
